Schon der Name hört sich spannend an: Teufelsschlucht. Das konnten wir uns nicht entgehen lassen! Die Teufelsschlucht befindet sich (laut WIKI) am Ostrand des Ferschweiler-Plateaus im Naturpark Südeifel in der Nähe von Irrel. Sie entstand gegen Ende der letzten Eiszeit, vor rund 10.000 Jahren infolge eines Felssturzes bzw. einer Serie von Felsstürzen. Und der Name verspricht nicht zu viel. Wir sind sehr lange durch die Teufelsschlucht gewandert, das Vorwärtskommen ist mühselig und auch sehr spannend, ein Gewitter überraschte uns und verlaufen haben wir uns auf der „Teuflischen Acht“ auch noch, aber dennoch: Was für eine irre Gegend! Voller Felsspalten, toller Felsen, Steintrolle und wunderbarer Natur! Ganz klare Empfehlung!

The name sounds exciting: Devil’s Gulch. We couldn’t have missed that! The Devil’s Gorge is located (according to WIKI) on the eastern edge of the Ferschweiler Plateau in the South Eifel Nature Park near Irrel. It was formed towards the end of the last ice age, about 10,000 years ago as a result of a rockfall or a series of rockfalls. And the name does not promise too much. We hiked through the Devil’s Gorge for a very long time, the advancement is laborious and also very exciting, a thunderstorm surprised us and we got lost on the „Devil’s Eight“ as well, but still: What a crazy area! Full of crevices, great rocks, stone elfs and wonderful nature! Very clear recommendation!
