Immer die Polarlicht-App im Auge fuhren wir aus dem Süden wieder Richtung Reykjavik zurück und nahmen unterwegs so viel es ging an Sehenswürdigkeiten mit. Auf den ersten Bilder sieht man den schönen Kvernufoss, an dem ich endlich mal meine Drohne fliegen lassen konnte. Spannend fand ich auch Islands ältestes Schwimmbad, das in einer malerischen Landschaft liegt – direkt neben dem Eyjafjallajökull. Ich muss ja überall reinspringen, so auch in dieses Freibad 🙂 Es war nicht wirklich heiß, wird aber von einer warmen Quelle gespeist und ist zum Schwimmen super! Am Schluss sieht man den wilden Strand von Vik, der immer wieder sehenswert und wunderschön ist. Hier konnten wir im Sommer unzählige Papageientaucher  bewundern.

We drove back from the south towards Reykjavik and took as many attractions as we could along the way. On the first pictures you can see the beautiful Kvernufoss, where I could finally let my drone fly. I also loved Iceland’s oldest swimming pool , which is located in a picturesque landscape – right next to the Eyjafjallajökull. I have to jump in everywhere, including this outdoor pool 🙂 It was not really hot, but it is fed by a warm spring and is great for swimming! At the end you see the wild beach of Vik, which is always worth seeing and beautiful. Here we could admire countless puffins in summer.
